We spent an enjoyable three days in the small town of Rothenburg and had a day trip to Bamberg to visit the Christmas Markets which are very pretty and have a good selection of crafts and foodstuff like Bratworst and Gluhwein.
These old towns are steeped in history dating back centuries the hotel that we stayed in in Rothenburg opened in 1356 this often is hard to imagine.
